Firefighters Help Collect Food for the Holidays

CAPE MAY – Cape May Firefighters IAFF Local 3495 will be assisting the Cape May Food Closet collect food for the holidays. Anyone that would like to assist by making a donation of non-perishable food items can bring them to the Cape May Fire Department or The First Presbyterian Church of Cape May. The collection will take place through Dec. 17, 2013.
Cape May Food Closet helps people from the Cape May area, including all of Cape Island and North Cape May. This is the first year that the fire department has participated in the program. “The members of Local 3495 are thankful for the support that the community has always given them, with the holidays nearing they wanted to help give back to those in need” stated Michael Eck, Vice President of local 3495.
You can drop off your non-perishable goods at the Cape May Fire Dept. from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. any day of the week. Please ensure that all donations are within their expiration dates. The department is located on the corner of Washington St. and Franklin St. in Cape May. You can also drop off items at The First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, located on the corner of Hughes St. and Decatur St. in Cape May.
