How you could help but get a lift
When you buy a friend a gift?
When you look around the shops
And see the dolls, the horns, the tops
Christmas carolers everywhere
The scent of pine fills the air
Ties and hankies, scarves and rings
Church bells herald the King of Kings
People scurrying to and fro
Sniffing air in hopes of snow
And Santa perched in every store
Just like years and years before
People loaded down with wares
Forgetting for awhile their cares
Little children whose eyes grow wide
As they gaze through windows at toys inside
How close the Savior seems to be
