NORTH CAPE MAY – Due to the amount of foot traffic that will be along Beach drive for the Fireworks Festival, the Lower Township Police Department will close Beach Drive from Lincoln Boulevard to Pinewood Avenue in North Cape May July 3, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until the conclusion of the event which is expected to be approximately 11:00 p.m. Douglass Park will also be closed the entire day of July 3 and will re-open July Fourth. Vendors and amusement rides will stay open until approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 3 to allow traffic to filter out of the area.
Shore Drive and Beach Drive will be closed to all vehicular and bicycle traffic during this time. There will be “No Parking” along Beach Drive from 2:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on July 3 to allow for the set up and clean up of vendors along Beach Drive.
The last blocks of Franklin Boulevard and Washington Boulevard from Atlantic Avenue to the beach, will also be posted “No Parking” from Wednesday July 2ND, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. until July Fourth, 2014 to allow for the set up and breakdown of several amusement rides that will be set up on these two (2) blocks. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and towed. There will be ample parking throughout North Cape May.
Motorists are warned not to block driveways, fire hydrants or intersections. Handicap parking will be available on Holmes Avenue and Townbank Roads between Beach Drive and Atlantic Avenue.
In the event there are lost children, parents or guardians are directed to report the lost child to the nearest police officer, who will advise the Police Command Center which will be located at Beach and Lincoln Blvd.
In the event of rain, this event will be rescheduled for July 5, 2014.
