AVALON – Through the coordination of various organizations including the Borough of Avalon, the 7 Mile Business Community Association, Seven Mile Publishing and the Avalon Chamber of Commerce, Avalon announces a festive lineup of activities for the holiday weekend. Nov. 27 – Festival of Trees
5 p.m. – The Whitebrier (260 21st Street, Avalon) – Over 30 decorated trees and wreaths available for bidding starting Wednesday night and continuing Friday from Noon to 9 p.m. The trees and wreaths are decorated by local residents and business owners in a number of themes and décor.
Nov. 29 – Turkey Trot, Festive Friday & Tree Lighting
10 a.m. – 30th and Avalon Ave. – The 2nd Annual Turkey Trot 5K and 1.5-Mile Family Walk will be held to benefit the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children.
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Avalon’s Shopping District – More than 50 family-fun activities for everyone to enjoy including ice skating, character visits, crafts, rides, games and treats.
5 p.m. – Veterans Plaza (21st and Dune Drive) – Arrival of Santa Claus and Avalon Tree Lighting
Nov 30 – New event – Snowfest Saturday
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Avalon Elementary School Field – Avalon’s first-ever winter carnival featuring a second day of ice skating, rides on the Snowfest Express, Family Snow Globe Portraits, giant slides, rock wall, bounce houses, winter carnival games, prizes and toasty treats.
