Anglesea Irish Society Spreads Christmas Cheer through Santa Clause Charity

By Press Release

NORTH WILDWOOD — Anglesea Irish Society opened up the Christmas season right by playing Santa Clause on Dec. 16, distributing carloads of gifts and toys donated to local families in need. Donations were collected from Nov. 12 through Dec. 15. Gifts were delivered late Tues. night on Dec. 16, 2014.
All members and volunteers were filled with glee and cheer at the sight of the piles of gifts for families in need. This Tues., club members and several other caring individuals, including George Reilly and his wife Elaine, Scott Gregg, Brian Onuskanych, Ronald Simone, and Sharon Kane, gathered at the Anglesea Irish Society headquarters on Pacific Avenue to organize the gifts for delivery.
“It is nice to see community-minded organizations like Anglesea Irish Society dedicated to helping the needy by mobilizing their resources to benefit those who may otherwise struggle this Christmas,” said Sharon Kane. Sharon Kane knows the families personally, and has been helping them through random acts of kindness since 2001.
“The holiday season can be a busy time for most of us,” said Club President Mike Wilson. “We must first take others into consideration this time of year, rather than ourselves. There are families in the area right now who suffer from poverty. I would like to thank all club members and contributors to our organization who helped to make this Christmas truly special for the families we serve through this charity.”
