We were determined to have a Christmas tree!
We had no decorations of course, so we made paper chain and each of us donated a flashlight bulb.
Our radio man wired the bulbs to flashlight batteries to power them
We cut the tree in the mountains and rigged a stand.
Looking at the tree you may not think much of it,
But it was the best ever.
It was what we could do to be home.
