COURT HOUSE – Volunteers in Medicine of Cape May County (VIM) has partnered with the NJ Department of Human Services’ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI) to offer free monthly eye screenings to the public on the second Friday of each month. More than fifty percent of blindness is preventable. CBVI vision screenings are done by a certified Eye Screener and an Optometrist at VIM’s state of the art Eye room, equipped by the Stone Harbor Lions. CBVI provides statewide eye health services to special needs population, individuals with diabetes, migrant farm workers, seniors and under-privileged groups.
Upcoming VIM Eye Clinics are Sept. 12 and Oct. 10 at the VIM clinic located at 423 N. Route 9, CMCH, NJ 08210 (next door to Atlantic Medical Imaging). The free walk-in clinics are on a first come-first served basis; VIM suggests you arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 12 noon.
These Eye Clinics are open to the public. Prescription Glasses assistance is available to anyone who meets VIM qualifications.
