Taking Initiatives to Treat and Prevent Lyme and Tick-borne Illnesses

Taking Initiatives to Treat and Prevent Lyme and Tick-borne Illnesses

By Sponsored

The New Jersey Department of Health released data in 2017 ranking Cape May and Cumberland counties have the lowest incidences of Lyme disease. After witnessing the number of ticks this summer, I am certain it is a result of under-reporting.
Lyme disease is running rampant throughout New Jersey. The infection’s long-term effects can be a laundry list of debilitating symptoms, such as painful arthritic joints, brain fog, a general feeling of being sick and run down, and, in the worst cases, it can lead to death.
Lyme is just one of the viruses that a tick bite can transfer. There are countless bacterium, viruses, and other yet to be discovered microbes that transfer. Prevention is key, but what do you do if bitten?
If you catch the bite in the first 24 hours, antibiotics can be of help to limit the spread of the infection.  In the long run, it is best to have a highly functioning immune system. This is done through proper diet, exercise, and supplementation. Regular visits to acupuncture, massage, and chiropractic therapists help keep body functioning at its best.
