SEA ISLE CITY — With August rapidly approaching, many visitors and residents at the Jersey shore are scrambling to make the most of what’s left of the summer season. However, in Sea Isle City some people are experiencing difficulty when determining just what to do first – thanks to the many athletic and entertainment options available at the resort.
Each week, the City hosts numerous physical fitness programs. Among the most popular are their aerobics classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at the Sea Isle City Community Lodge, and Sit-And-Be-Fit classes for seniors each Wednesday and Friday afternoon. Equally popular are the morning yoga and boot-camp classes, which are held on the beach throughout the week. All classes are led by certified instructors and are well-attended — however, there is always room for additional participants.
Each year in Sea Isle City, which is known as a place for sporting events, there are also many athletic competitions — from surfing tournaments to rugby matches to 5K runs. The City also hosts many sports camps and clinics during the summer. There’s still time to sign up for a number of those programs, however due to their popularity they sell-out quickly, so all interested participants should sign-up as soon as possible.
Basketball fans will be happy to learn that Sea Isle’s public basketball courts on JFK Boulevard are “the place to be” for Saturday morning pick-up games. Additionally, the City hosts many free entertainment events throughout the summer, including outdoor concerts on Monday evenings, family movies on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and family dance parties on Wednesdays – all taking place on or adjacent to the Promenade at JFK Boulevard. There are also Beachcomber guided beach tours held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, as well as many other exciting events still planned for the remainder of the season.
What does all this mean? –Simply that there’s still plenty of enjoyment left this summer in Sea Isle City!
