SEA ISLE CITY — Many local business owners have joined forces in support of the second annual Celebration of Life fund-raiser on Sat., Sept. 11.
The event, which is being organized by two organ transplant recipients and the owner of a local fashion boutique, will take place at Kix-Mc Nutleys on 63rd Street, 4-8 p.m.
Proceeds will support The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Gift of Life Donor Program and the annual Sea Isle City Polar Bear Plunge Autism 5K, which supports local autism organizations.
For $15 at the door, all are invited to enjoy an evening of music, dancing, karaoke, great food and door prizes. There will also be a wide variety of raffle-items up for grabs, including autographed memorabilia from local professional and college sports teams.
Dinner will be provided by Mike’s Seafood Market and Restaurant, Lobster Loft Restaurant, Marie’s Lobster House Restaurant and Market, The Bracca Café and Moe’s Bar-Bie-Q Restaurant.
However, according to Groovy Girlz Fashion Boutique owner Colleen Falcone, many other local businesses have also donated merchandise and services to help make the event a success.
“It is wonderful how Sea Isle’s business leaders always come together for good causes,” said Falcone, who is organizing the festivities with the help of Bobby “Coach” Taylor, a heart transplant recipient, and Diana Schiavo, a kidney transplant recipient.
“The show of support for this event has been tremendous. Last year we had 200 people attend and it was lots of fun – and we expect it to be even better this year.”
