Rutgers to Host ‘Drug, Alcohol Awareness’ For Grandparents Event

COURT HOUSE — Rutgers Cooperative Extension’s Family and Community Health Sciences Department will host a discussion entitled “Alcohol Awareness: Facing the Tough Issues” for the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group.
Pat Horvath, Student Assistance counselor from the Ocean City School District will lead the program. The discussion will spotlight the issues and threats facing our children from the prevalence of drugs, alcohol and tobacco use in our area.
The event will be held on May 11, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Building located at 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road. (Turn at the light at ACCC, it is the first building on the right).
The building is handicap accessible. Childcare will be provided for the grandchildren. A light supper for the grandparents and grandchildren will be offered at 5:30 and the program will follow at 6 p.m.
There is no charge for this program, but advanced registration is required. Call Marian at 609-465-5115, ext. “609” to register or for more information.
Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station Cooperative Extension educational programs are offered to all without regard to race, religion, color, age, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
The County Freeholders, the Cape May County Department of Aging, and Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County provide support for this program.
