Ninth Annual Diabetes Update at Cape Regional Medical Center

COURT HOUSE – In recognition of National Diabetes Education Month, The Diabetes Center at Cape Regional Medical Center will host the Ninth Annual Diabetes Update on Tue., Nov. 8. The forum will be held at the Medical Center in Classrooms A & B from 8:00 am – 11:45 a.m. and is open to the public. The forum is free and no registration is required. A light, healthy snack will be served.
A faculty of healthcare professionals will be discussing diabetes management, exercise, continuous glucose monitoring, medication, nutrition, glycemic index diet and glucose goals. The keynote speaker, Dr. Christopher Zitnay, Board-certified Endocrinologist and Medical Director of The Diabetes Center, will speak from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Cindy Kraemer, BSN, CDE, PRNC, Manager of The Diabetes Center, Fred Schuster, MA, STS, Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and Betsy German, MS, RD, Clinical Dietician, will address their areas of expertise. “The Annual Diabetes Update is a wonderful opportunity to invite the public to The Diabetes Center and to educate them on the many classes and support groups offered by the Center,” stated Cindy Kraemer, BSN, CDE, PRNC, Manager of the Diabetes Center.
Cape Regional Medical Center’s Diabetes Center is certified through the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Comprehensive classes are held weekly and over a four week period, covering all the issues recommended by the ADA. Most insurance plans encourage and cover the cost of these classes. The Medical Center also offers a free monthly Diabetes Support Group that addresses different topics and features special speakers each month.
