COURT HOUSE – Melanie Vedder, RN on Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is February’s Service Excellence Awardee at Cape Regional Medical Center.
“Melanie Vedder is a relatively new nurse to our institution and has been placed in the role of Charge Nurse on PCU. She is energetic and self-motivated. In addition, she is a very professional and positive influence on her fellow co-workers. It is due to her demonstrated professionalism, that she deserves to be honored with the Service Excellence Award,” wrote Michael Boriss, D.O., Cardiologist and Past President of the Medical Staff in his nomination.
“This is such an honor,” stated Vedder. “It is really nice to be appreciated. I love the people who I work with.”
“I am so impressed with Melanie,” stated Louise Baclasky, Nurse Director of PCU. “Melanie is a fairly new graduate and demonstrates maturity and willingness to ensure that the patients are well cared for and that the unit functions in a professional and thorough manner.”
Melanie has been a member of the Cape Regional Medical Center team since May, 2010. She and her husband, Erik, live in Cape May Court House with their two dogs. She graduated from Burlington Community College in December, 2009 and has begun a Master’s Program for Nurse Practitioner at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
