OCEAN VIEW – June 26 and June 27, the Atlantic Medical Imaging Mammography Van is coming to the Oceanview Center for Rehab & Continuing Care. According to the American Cancer Society, women age 40 and older should receive a mammography screening each year. They recommend that women have at least one baseline mammography screening between the age of 35 and 40. Most of the staff at Oceanview Center is female. The administrator at Oceanview realized many were not utilizing their health plan to get their mammograms done. The facility’s insurance covers mammograms without a co-pay or a referral for women over 40. Many staff have difficulty scheduling their mammograms due to work and personal commitments. The solution, bring the mammogram to the ladies! “We are pleased to offer this service to our staff, families and friends. Their health is important to us,” said Jennifer Hess, Administrator. “We have many breast cancer survivors living and working here. We personally contacted all of our family members to invite them to the event. We know early detection is important,” Hess said. There will be raffles, refreshments and breast cancer awareness giveaways on both days to encourage people to participate. The mobile mammography service is open to anyone in the community as well.
Avalon – Eighty percent of working-age Americans have jobs, and the average after-tax income is up almost $4,000 since before the pandemic, significantly outpacing inflation.
