Loyalton Offers Lemonade, Tips on Staying Hydrated

By Press Release

Did you know?
The human body is 60 percent water!
Without water, your body would stop working properly. Water makes up more than half of your body weight and a person can’t survive for more than a few days without it. Why?
Your body has lots of important jobs and it needs water to do many of them. For instance, your blood, which contains a lot of water, carries oxygen to all the cells of your body. Without oxygen, those tiny cells would die and your body would stop working.
Here’s what you can do to keep hydrated during the summer months:
• Stay hydrated by consuming plenty of water, even if you’re not thirsty. Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol.
• Popsicles, sorbets, and gelatin desserts are a great source of fluid.
• Add lemon or line to hot or cold water to give it a refreshing taste.
• Use club soda or seltzer with fruit juices to dilute their concentration and add a little sparkle.
• Make “mocktails” by blending tea, water or lemonade with lightly carbonated flavored water, sparkling apple or grape juice.
• Consider non-alcoholic cocktails like pina coladas, fruit-flavored daiquiris, sparkling cider punch, sangria sippers and hot apple toddies.
• Decaf iced coffee and tea are another refreshing beverage option for keeping you cool!
Stop in today at Loyalton of Cape May, 591 Rt. 9 South, Court House, an Emeritus Senior Living community for a refreshing glass of lemonade!
