WILDWOOD — The first Good Counsel home in South Jersey is now open in Riverside and ready to accept pregnant mothers in need. Renovated from a former convent, the new home is able to accommodate nine mothers and their children.
Volunteers have painted a delightful zoo animal theme in the playroom, helped clean and set up the rooms to be comfortable and inviting, sorted and washed donations that have been pouring into the home, and helped clean up the yard and plant flowers.
To help fund this new home, four walkathons will be held Sat., May 21 throughout South Jersey.
The Wildwood Walkathon will start at E. Burk Avenue and the Boardwalk. Registration will be from 8:30 -10 a.m. and the walkathon will be from 10 a.m. to noon.
For more information or to obtain walkathon registration/pledge forms contact Brenda Quinn at olvbquinn@aol.com, 856-423-3468 or Steve Atzert at satzert1@verizon.net or 609 465-7765.
