COURT HOUSE — Dr. Richard Perniciaro, the Dean of Facilities, Planning, and Research at Atlantic Cape Community will be the guest speaker at Cape May County’s Childhood Drinking Coalition spring workshop on Tues., May 3.
It will be held 1-2 p.m .at the Freeholders Meeting Room, at 4 Moore Road in Cape May Court House. Perniciaro will share insight on the impact of changing communities has on underage drinking in Cape May County.
Perniciaro has been active in economic development in southern New Jersey for the past 25 years. At the present time, he serves as Dean of Facilities, Planning and Research at Atlantic Cape Community College as well as the Director of the Center for Regional and Business Research where he performs economic, marketing and demographic studies for public agencies and private businesses.
He has published articles on casino gambling in Atlantic City and is recognized internationally as an authority on the economic impact of the casino gaming industry on the economy of Southern New Jersey.
In addition, Dr. Perniciaro has published articles on the economic development of the Pinelands National Reserve. After completing studies for the federal and state departments of labor on the tourism/hospitality industry in the region, Perniciaro has also written economic development strategies for regions, counties and municipalities.
He holds a doctorate in Economics from Temple University, a MA degree from the London School of Economics and a BA degree from Columbia University.
