Fourth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Department of Health is proud to announce its 4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. The walk will be held at Cape May County’s Park and Zoo May 2, 2015. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. The walk will take place 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. The event is being coordinated by New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJ CEED).
Registration for the walk is free. There will be a warm-up session before the start of the walk led by Delores Nordone from Curves Gym. The first 100 participants will receive a free T-shirt. Donations are welcomed and will go to American Cancer Society. Walk at your own pace. This is not a competition. The main goal of the walk is to bring awareness to Breast Cancer and to learn the risk factors associated with it. Throughout the walk there will be educational material on Breast Cancer to bring awareness.
NJ CEED is a state funded grant that offers cancer screenings to those who are uninsured or underinsured. NJ CEED offers screenings for Breast, Prostate, Cervical, and Colorectal Cancers. NJ CEED is supported by Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, NJ State Department of Health & Senior Services, and Cape May County Department of Health. The CDC estimates that approximately one thousand lives are saved each year because of early detection. Come join the cause and help bring awareness to Cape May County.
