Fall Open Enrollment Period for Medicare Beneficiaries

• During open enrollment Medicare beneficiaries are given the opportunity to make changes to one’s health or prescription drug coverage for 2014.
• Open enrollment dates October 15, 2013 – December 7, 2013.
• In most cases, this may be the one chance you have to make a change to your health and prescription drug coverage for 2014.
• The Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services will host a free Medicare Part D education and enrollment seminar from 10 am to 12 pm on October 23, 2013 at the Lower Cape Senior Center, located at 2612 Bayshore Road in Villas.
• The Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services will be scheduling appointments on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays during open enrollment for Medicare beneficiaries who may be interested in making changes to one’s health or prescription drug coverage. To schedule an appointment with a counselor from the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) please call (609) 886-8138.
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (S.H.I.P.) is a statewide program administered by the New Jersey Department of Human Services-Division of Aging Services, with major funding from the U.S. Department of Health Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and supported by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
