CAPE MAY – A number of fitness programs will be available this fall from the Cape May Recreation Dept.
Transformational Pilates:
Transform your life using the power systems Pilates bars, light weights & Bender Balls. Be prepared to feel muscles you have not addressed to improve overall body balance. The class will be held Sun., 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., begining Oct. 2, at the Franklin Street Civic Center. The instructor is Tammy Decker.
Boot Camp:
If you want a challenging workout try our Boot Camp. Boot Camp is a series of one minute stations that change each class and provide a workout that incorporates strength training, cardio conditioning and core training. Come get a great workout with great results. Males & Females ages 12 and over are welcome. The class will be held Mon. and Wed., 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., begining Sept. 12, at the Franklin Street Civic Center. The instructor is Tom Coyle.
Jazz Aerobics:
Upbeat music and jazz dance style routines keep you moving and motivated to get in shape. Great for adults with not much aerobics experience. The class will be held Mon., Wed. and Fri., 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., begining Sept. 7, at the Franklin Street Civic Center. The instructors are Claudia VonSavage & Tracy Neri.
Total Toning with Tracy:
Get fit with this top to bottom total body workout. Interval exercises to strengthen and tone your upper and lower body. Come join the fun and achieve great results! The class will be held Thurs., 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., begining Sept. 15, at the Franklin Street Civic Center. The instructor is Tracy Neri.
Low-Impact Aerobics & Stretching Class:
Easy to learn low impact workout for seniors or anyone who needs to limit the strain and stress on joints. A complete and gentle way to work on cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, flexibility, and mobility. Wear comfortable clothes and come join us for a fun way to exercise. The class will be held Tues. and Thurs., 4:00 – 4:45 p.m., begining Sept. 13, at Cape May Elementary. The instructor is Sue Tracy.
Zumba with Angie:
Angie loves dancing! Originally form Costa Rica but a New Jersey local for 11 years, wants to share her energy, rhythm and passion for life. If you want to experience the hottest non-stop cardio thrill, come join Angie. 100% real Latin energy, officially Zumba certified, Pura Vida! The class will be held Tues., 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., begining Sept. 20, at the Franklin Street Civic Center. The instructor is Angie Buccella.
Zumba Gold (not old):
Zumba Gold is a revolutionary dance fitness routine designed for the true beginner, active older adult and/or people who are not used to exercising. Its done at a much lower intensity. The same great Latin styles of music and dance are used as regular Zumba classes. This class will strive to improve balance, strength, flexibility and most importantly, the heart. You get a safe and extremely effective total body workout while maintaining a party atmosphere that is different, fun and easy to follow. The class will be held Tues. and Thurs., 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., begining Sept. 13, at the Franklin Street Civic Center. The instructor is Jeanne Degatano.
Intro to Yoga:
Have you ever wanted to try Yoga or would you like to reinforce the basics you may have learned some years ago? This Yoga practice is offered as a coed beginner’s level awareness and experience of Yoga – Stretch, Breathe and Relax. “Feel the sweet breeze of peace of mind.” Improve flexibility, strength, energy, self-esteem and well being. Yoga helps manage and reduce stress. No previous Yoga experience required and all levels are welcome. The class will be held Sat., 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., begining Oct. 1, at the Franklin Street Civic Center. The instructor is Karen Manette Bosna.
Zumba for KIDS:
Zumbatomic® – Designed exclusively for kids (ages 4-12). Zumbatomic classes are rockin’, high-energy fitness-parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and all the music kids love, like hip-hop, reggaeton, cumbia and more. Parents love Zumbatomic because of the effects it has on kids, increasing their focus and self-confidence, boosting metabolism and enhancing coordination. Zumbatomic rounds out family fitness goals by giving parents a great reason to head to the gym – for themselves, for their kids, for a totally fun family experience.
