Expansion, Access Hallmarks of Health Network’s Goals

The goals set out by CompleteCare Health Network for 2012 can be distilled into two words: “more value.”
Now in its 39th year of service, the Joint Commission accredited health organization, with a local branch in Cape May Court House, plans to continue its strategic vision to make quality healthcare more accessible and affordable in the community by providing an expanded range of services.
While continued growth is in itself a challenging goal, CompleteCare leaders have also taken action on plans to exceed their patient’s expectations in the realms of customer service, convenience and professional excellence.
“In order to keep our patients healthy we need to be able to deliver the services they need and have enough hours and providers available to meet growing demand,” said Gil Walter, president and CEO of CompleteCare.
In 2011, CompleteCare had 184,308 visits from patients, an average of 590 services per day. Of those visits, 16,000 were in Cape May Court House.
That number marks a 14 percent increase from 2010, and, if trends continue, South Jersey’s largest health network is on track to grow another 15 percent in 2012.
Key to CompleteCare’s growth is the commitment to offering more services at more locations during more hours. Last year, Court House CompleteCare extended their hours to see dental patients during evening hours. The local CompleteCare health center offers Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Podiatry, Optometry, Ophthalmology, Dental and Behavioral health services.
“Our goal is to become a comprehensive healthcare home for more people,” said Walter. “If a patient is comes to us for medical treatment, we want to make sure that they are also receiving dental care. And if that patient needs to see a Podiatrist or receive any other kind of specialty care, we want to make sure that we can give them that treatment too.”
Since implementing a far-reaching strategic plan in 2010, the organization has taken a renewed focus on the patient experience.
While physical renovations to their facilities might be the most apparent improvements, upgrades to customer service including on-line appointment scheduling, patient access to personal health records and fully integrated electronic health records are welcome additions to new and returning patients.
Walter also notes that high service standards have been the key to CompleteCare’s success.
“We are South Jersey’s only medical group nationally accredited by the Joint Commission and all of our providers are Board Certified,” he said. “We try to measure up to even higher internal quality markers. We have high expectations of ourselves and every year we try to raise the bar just a little higher. We owe it to our patients to give them the best care possible.”
CompleteCare is accredited by the Joint Commission and is a Federally Qualified Health Center which provides Primary medical, dental and mental health services to over 50,000 mostly health uninsured persons annually in Cumberland, Gloucester and Cape May counties.
Now operating 18 Community and School-based health centers, the CompleteCare Health Network is dedicated to serving the community with accessible, affordable, culturally competent, high-quality health services.
