AARP’s Create the Good program encourages people of all ages, not just older adults, to volunteer in their communities.
Create the Good shows you how to volunteer your time around your schedule, whether you have five minutes, five hours, or five days.
Create the Good helps match individuals with information on projects and local volunteer opportunities. One can create the good in so many ways! There are projects for everyone no matter how much time and energy they have.
AARP’s Create the Good website offers a variety of toolkits online (both downloadable and print versions) that can be used to start different community projects.
Create the Good is not just for individuals. Organizations can use the website to post their own volunteer opportunities. If an organization is hosting an event for which it needs volunteers, it can publish the information on the website so that people interested in volunteering can easily find it.
Individuals who are already working on programs in their community and who needs volunteers to help, they can use the website to post their volunteer opportunities and create even more good!
To start creating the good in your neighborhood visit createthegood.org or in Spanish at compartiresvivir.org today. Remember that AARP was founded in 1958 because one person, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, believed she could help others.
Today, AARP has almost 40 million members nationwide. One person really can make a difference.
