County Receives More Seasonal Flu Vaccine

By Herald Staff

COUNTY PRESS RELEASE:
COURT HOUSE — Freeholder Gerald M. Thornton today announced that the Cape May County Health Department will be providing additional seasonal flu vaccinations. “We are pleased that the County has finally received the balance of our vaccine order and we can now provide the seasonal flu vaccine to those who haven’t been able to get it,” said Thornton.
While supplies last, the department will begin vaccinating by appointment only. Unfortunately, walk-ins cannot be accommodated. To make an appointment, call 463-6581 and press “2” for seasonal flu.
Freeholder Thornton added, “The seasonal flu season peaks between late January and late February in New Jersey so there is still plenty of time to get a seasonal flu shot and be protected.”
As a reminder, children less than 5 years of age who attend a licensed daycare or preschool are required by the State of New Jersey to receive a seasonal flu shot between September and December each year to attend daycare or preschool.
For more information about seasonal flu or H1N1 vaccination clinics call the Cape May County Health Department at 609-463-6581 or visit www.cmchealth.net .
