Jennifer Lee Sibiga is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, proudly employed by Connolly Dermatology for 10 years. During her time with Dr. Connolly, Jennifer has developed her passion for dermatology, focusing on diagnosing and treating various dermatological issues such as skin cancers and dermatitis. She has a keen eye for detecting melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers such as Basal and Squamous Cell Carcinoma. She also treats children and adults with any skin, hair or nail concern, including acne, rosacea and rashes. Jennifer cares for patients in the Barnegat and Linwood offices, and now looks forward to returning to the Cape May Court House office this summer.
Jennifer holds a Master’s degree from Rutgers University, a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and an Associate’s degree in nursing from the County College of Morris. In 1997, she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, and she is affiliated with two professional societies: the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners and the Nurse Practitioner Society of the DNA. To keep her finger on the pulse, Jennifer regularly attends dermatology lectures and conferences.
Jennifer is very active in the community, acting as a pharmaceutical speaker to her colleagues and staff and volunteering as an educational speaker for fishing clubs, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, hospitals and retirement communities. She is proud to be a part of “Choose Your Cover,” where she annually performs free skin exams in the beach communities.
During her time off, this New Jersey native enjoys boating, fishing, gardening and outdoor activities. Above all, she cherishes quality time with her 4-year-old son, family and friends.
As a boater and beach lover, Jennifer stresses the four S’s:
1. Sunscreen. To prevent sunburn, use a broad spectrum 30 SPF lotion with zinc or titanium. The key is to reapply and read the label. Also, avoid sprays.
2. Skin checks. EVERYONE – children and adults – should have a yearly skin cancer screening by an experienced and thorough dermatology practitioner. If you have a history of skin cancer, a first degree relative with melanoma or several moles or freckles, you should get a skin exam twice a year.
3. Shades. Choose sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection – dark or mirrored sunglasses are not enough!
4. Shade. Shade your face and body with an umbrella, a wide brim hat, rash guards and SPF protective clothing. Consider adding a Bimini Top to your boat or an awning over your outdoor space.
Jennifer Sibiga looks forward to caring for you and your family’s dermatological needs. “I’m honored to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner and feel privileged that I can be a part of patients’ health care needs,” she says. Connolly Dermatology is now accepting new patients in all locations, so schedule your skin cancer screening today. Early detection saves lives!
