Complimentary Health and Wellness Day in Lower Township

Genesis HealthCare (North Cape Center, Victoria Commons and Victoria Manor) and Lower Township Municipality have teamed up to bring the Lower Township residents a complimentary wellness day on April 22 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The day is packed with all types of information, screenings, massages and even a blood drive. An American Red Cross blood drive will take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.; appointments are recommended to donate. Please call Lisa Hagan at 898-5462 to schedule an appointment.
Cape Regional Medical Center’s parish nurses will be on hand to perform blood pressure, blood sugar, blood cholesterol and even fracture risk screenings. Genesis Rehabilitation will have balance screens. Total Hearing Care will have hearing screens and Genesis will have a dietician on hand to complete a body fat analysis. Also available will be information on Alzheimer’s care, cardiac disease, long term care, subacute rehab, assisted living, advanced directives, hospice care and home care.
Companies that will be hosting a table include: Catholic Charities; Cape Regional Medical Center; Grayson Heberly, Elder Law Attorney; Rite -Aide Pharmacy; Cape May County Surrogate’s office; Dr. Caruso, Optometrist; CONTACT- Cape Atlantic; AABA Family Medical; Millville Transport; Cape May County Health Department and Cape Visiting Nurse Association. Lower Township’s Police, EMT’s and Fire Safety Bureau will host a table as well.
All attendees will be entered into drawings for local businesses’ gift cards. Refreshments will be provided by Victoria Commons Assisted Living. Again, stop by on Tuesday, April 22 from 11-2 p.m. at the Lower Township Recreation Center at 2600 Bayshore Road, Villas, to take advantage of this health awareness event.
