COURT HOUSE – Cape Regional Urgent Care is now open and attending to the needs of patients. Middle Township Mayor, Susan Atkinson De Lanzo, joined the physicians of Cape Emergency Physicians and Cape Physicians Associates during the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open Cape Regional Urgent Care. “Cape Regional Urgent Care is a wonderful benefit to the community, offering primary care in such a pleasant and cost efficient manner” stated De Lanzo.
Urgent care medicine delivers ambulatory care on an unscheduled, walk-in basis. These services are often utilized to treat patients who require immediate care but whose conditions are not serious enough for the emer gency room. The wait times are typically shorter than those seen in hospital emergency departments and high quality care can be delivered at a lower cost to the patient.
“Urgent care centers are used on days when your family doctor’s office is at capacity and when your family physician is closed,” stated John Ruskey, DO, Emergency Physician. “Although not open 24 hours, urgent care centers often have hours late into the evening. Many of these facilities offer x-ray, fracture-splinting, suturing, school physicals, workman’s comp, in-house radiology, for true one-stop shopping.”
Cape Regional Urgent Care in Cape May Court House, New Jersey is a joint venture between Cape Physicians Associates and Cape Emer gency Physicians-a group of 11 local emergency physi cians from Cape Regional Medical Center. Responding to the patient’s need for high-quality convenient care on a walk-in basis, Cape Regional Urgent Care is specifically for urgent care patients. This includes ten patient suites, state-of-the-art digital x-ray and electronic medical records, and even a children’s reading and play area. You can even make your appointment “on-line”.
The physicians at Cape Regional Urgent Care are all Emergency Medicine Board-Certified and have over 150 years combined working experience in both community and urban emergency departments. This gives them the advantage of experience with a wide spectrum of diseases and diverse populations. And because overhead is reduced compared to the hospital system, they are able to delivery high quality care at a much lower cost.
For years, you had two choices when you had an acute illness or injury: call your family doctor and hope they can fit you in or go to the emergency department. Now, Cape Regional Urgent Care gives you a high-quality choice on a walk-in basis. Many health insurance compa nies now encourage their customers to use urgent care centers. This has led to high satisfaction, both for patients and physicians alike.
