Cape Regional to Host ‘In Whose Two Shoes’

COURT HOUSE – Cape Regional Medical Center will host “In Whose Two Shoes” on Fri., Feb. 24, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Classrooms A & B on the ground floor of the Medical Center.
The program is sponsored by Sanofi-aventis U.S. Diabetes Education Program and will be presented by a child who has Type 1 Diabetes and her mother. The daughter and mother team, Katherine and Patti, are a trained youth/parent mentoring team for the Sanofi-aventis U.S. Diabetes Education Program. During the “In Whose Two Shoes” session, Katherine and Patti will share their story about living with Type I Diabetes and lead a discussion with parents and youth on:
• Working together to manage diabetes
• Understanding each other’s point of view
• Setting and accomplishing goals
“In Whose Two Shoes” is a session for youth between the age of 8 and 16 years old who have Type I Diabetes and their parents. Katherine and Patti are a “real” family living with Type I Diabetes who understand the many thoughts and feelings associated with this disease.
Please plan on attending “In Whose Two Shoes” and discuss situations that families living with a youth with Type I Diabetes might face. The program is free and no registration is required.
