Cape Regional Releases Calendar Notes for September

COURT HOUSE – Blood pressure screenings and supports are included in Cape Regional’s calendar for September.
Free Blood Pressure Screening
Cape Regional Medical Center will offer free blood pressure screenings from 9 a.m. to noon, Sept. 5 & 19 in the Outpatient South Lobby. Call 463-4043 for more information.
AA and AlAnon Support Groups Meet at Cape Regional Medical Center
AA and AlAnon Support Groups meet Sundays, Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28 at 10 a.m. in Classrooms A & B. The AA and AlAnon Groups meet Mondays, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 at 7 p.m. in Classrooms 3,4 & 5. AA meets Wednesdays, Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24 in rooms 3 & 4 at 8:30 p.m. New members are welcome. Please call 463 – 4043 for more information.
Amputee Support Group
The Amputee Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Maruchi room at the medical center. This is a group for those with amputations and their families.
Grief Support Group
Cape Regional Medical Center’s Grief Support Group will meet on Wednesdays, Sept. 3 & 17 at 3 p.m. in the Maruchi room. New members are welcome. Call 463-4043 for more information.
Caregiver Support Group at Cape Regional Medical Center
This group is for anyone who is caring for a friend or family member. The meeting will be Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. in the Maruchi room. For more information, please call Bonnie Kratzer and 463-4043.
Diabetes Management Series at Cape Regional Medical Center
A comprehensive 8 hour class on diabetes management techniques, including Education, Meal Planning, Medications, Exercise and Blood-Glucose Monitoring. This class series will be held at the medical center Tuesdays, Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30 at 9 a.m. in classrooms A & B. Fee and registration – please call Cindy Kraemer at 463-2547.
Diabetes Support Group
A meeting with changing diabetes related topics. The meeting is Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. in classrooms A & B.
Peripheral Artery Disease Screening
Free PAD screening is available at Cape Regional Medical Center Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. Call 463-4043 for an appointment.
CPR Certification
CPR certification will be offered at Cape Regional Medical Center Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in classrooms A & B. The fee is $80 which includes manual; $65 without a manual. Pre-registration is required. Please call 463-4043.
CPR Recertification
CPR recertification will be offered at Cape Regional Medical Center Sept. 18 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in classrooms A & B. The fee is $45 for class and $60 for class and manual. Pre-registration is required. Please call 463-4043.
Stroke/Brain Injury Support Group
The Stroke/Brain Injury support group will meet Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. in the Maruchi room at the Medical Center. This group is for stroke/brain injury patients and their families.
Breast Cancer Support Group
This is a support group for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, those who are survivors of breast cancer and their families. The group will meet in the Maruchi room at Cape Regional Medical Center Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.
Smoking Cessation
Smoking Cessation classes will be held at 3pm in the medical center on Wednesdays, Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24. Call 463-4043 to register. There is a $25 fee and $15 is refunded upon completion of the class. You must attend all 4 classes to get refund.
Pulmonary Support Group
The pulmonary support group will meet at Cape Regional Medical Center Sept. 18 at 11:30 a.m. in classroom A.
Hard of Hearing Support Group
This is a free support group for hard of hearing adults. The group will meet at 6:00 p.m. in the Maruchi room at the medical center Sept. 18. CART captioning services will be provided.
Childbirth Education
Birth Made Simple will be held on Thursdays, Sept. 4 and 11 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Cape Regional Medical Center. Pre-registration is necessary. Please call 463-4043.
Safe Sitter
This certification is for 11 year olds and older to gain confidence for babysitting. The course is $45 and pre-registration is required. Please call 463-4043. The next class will be Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. in classrooms A & B.
New Program – Prostate Cancer Support Group
This is a new group in Cape May County to provide education and support for both newly diagnosed as well as treated prostate cancer survivors. This group will meet Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Maruchi room at Cape Regional Medical Center. Please call 463-4043 for more information.
