COURT HOUSE – Cape Regional Medical Center upcoming events for Jan., 2013:
Free Blood Pressure Screening:
Cape Regional Medical Center will offer free blood pressure screenings from 9 a.m. to noon, on Jan. 4 & 18 in the Outpatient South Lobby. Call 463-4043 for more information.
AA and AlAnon Support Groups Meet at Cape Regional Medical Center:
AA and AlAnon Support Groups meet Jan. 6, 13, 20, 27 at 10 a.m. in Classrooms A & B. The AA and AlAnon Groups meet Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28 at 7 p.m. in Classrooms A & B. AA meets Jan. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 in rooms 3 & 4 at 8:30 p.m. New members are welcome. Please call 463 – 4043 for more information.
Overeaters Anonymous Support Group Meets at Cape Regional Medical Center:
Overeaters Anonymous will meet Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28 at 7 p.m. in Conference Room 5, located on the ground floor of the hospital. Call 463 – 4043 for more information.
Amputee Support Group:
The Amputee Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. on Jan. 22 in the Maruchi room at the medical center. This is a group for those with amputations and their families.
Grief Support Group:
Cape Regional Medical Center’s Grief Support Group will meet on Jan. 2 & 16 at 3 p.m. in the Maruchi room. New members are welcome. Call 463-4043 for more information.
Diabetes Management Series at Cape Regional Medical Center:
A comprehensive 8 hour class on diabetes management techniques, including Education, Meal Planning, Medications, Exercise and Blood-Glucose Monitoring. This class series will be held at the medical center on Jan. 2, 9, 16, 23 at 10 a.m. in classrooms A & B. Fee and registration – please call Cindy Kraemer at 463-2249.
Diabetes Support Group:
A meeting with changing diabetes related topics. The meeting is Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. in classrooms A & B.
Peripheral Artery Disease Screening:
Free PAD screening is available at Cape Regional Medical Center on Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. Call 463-4043 for an appointment.
CPR Certification:
CPR certification will be offered at Cape Regional Medical Center on Saturday, January 12th from 9am – 4pm in classrooms A & B. The fee is $42 which includes manual; $30 without a manual. Pre-registration is required. Please call 463-4043.
CPR Recertification:
CPR recertification will be offered at Cape Regional Medical Center on Jan. 17 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. in classrooms A & B. The fee is $20 for class and $32 for class and manual. Pre-registration is required. Please call 463-4043.
Stroke/Brain Injury Support Group:
The Stroke/Brain Injury support group will meet Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. in the Maruchi room at the Medical Center. This group is for stroke/brain injury patients and their families.
Breast Cancer Support Group:
This is a support group for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, those who are survivors of breast cancer and their families. The group will meet in the Maruchi room at Cape Regional Medical Center on Jan. 8 at 2 p.m.
Smoking Cessation:
Smoking Cessation classes will be held at 3 p.m. in the medical center on Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30. Call 463-4043 to register. There is a $25 fee and $15 is refunded upon completion of the class. You must attend all 4 classes to get refund.
Pulmonary Support Group:
The pulmonary support group will meet at Cape Regional Medical Center on Nov. 24 at 11:30 a.m. in classroom A.
Hard of Hearing Support Group:
This is a free support group for hard of hearing adults. The group will meet at 6:00 pm in the Maruchi room at the medical center on Jan. 16. CART captioning services will be provided.
Safe Sitter Certification:
This certification is for 11 year olds and older to gain confidence for babysitting. The course is $35 and pre-registration is required. Please call 463-4043. The next class will be Jan. 19 at 9 a.m. in classrooms A & B.
