WILDWOOD – Cape Assist will be hosting Taking Control of Your Health, a six-week program designed to teach those who suffer with a chronic illness to better manage their diseases. The program is also open to caregivers.
Funded by a grant from the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, the Wellness Education program classes will cover a variety of topics including:
• How to manage your symptoms
• How to start eating healthy and exercising
• How to communicate effectively with your doctor
• How to manage fear, anger and frustration
The sessions are scheduled from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on six Mondays, beginning Feb. 10 and ending March 24. The sessions will be held at the Cape Assist office, 3819 New Jersey Ave., Wildwood, NJ 08260. Space is limited. Pre-registration is requiredD.
All those completing the six sessions will receive a free guidebook called Living with a Chronic Condition, valued at $18.95 A light lunch will be provided.
