The AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Emergency Medical Services Life Support Training Center and Physio-Control, Inc., will offer two continuing education seminars in performing and interpreting electrocardiography and recognizing acute coronary syndrome Thursday, November 4 at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Walter E. Edge Theater, Building C, on the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike. The first session will be from 8 a.m. to noon; the second will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Both sessions are open to paramedics, nurses, physicians, physician assistants, and paramedic students. There is no fee for this class.
Tim Phalen, NREMT-P, co-author with Barbara Aehlert, The 12-Lead ECG in Acute Coronary Syndromes (C.V. Mosby; 2nd edition, June 14, 2005) and author, The 12-Lead ECG in Acute Myocardial Infarction (C.V. Mosby; 2nd edition, June 14, 2005), will deliver the training. He’ll discuss and demonstrate placement and interpretation of a 12-lead ECG. He’ll also cover importance of pre-hospital diagnosis and treatment of acute coronary syndrome, which includes unstable angina and heart attack.
