ATLANTIC CITY– Nearly 400 healthcare professionals and volunteers attended the Harrah’s Regional Trauma Center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s (ARMC) Twelfth Annual Trauma Symposium, May 10 through 12 at the Atlantic City Convention Center- a record attendance for the event.
More than 380 people had the opportunity to learn from national and regional experts in trauma, emergency medicine and critical care. The symposium also featured the annual Scott E. Monk Scholarship award presentation. The family of the late Scott E. Monk, DO, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, established the yearly $5,000 scholarship to honor the life and teachings of the former medical director of the Harrah’s Regional Trauma Center at ARMC. This year’s scholarship award winner was John Campbell, RN, BSN, of Collingswood Heights, New Jersey. Campbell is a registered nurse in the ARMC Atlantic City Campus Emergency Center. He plans to use the scholarship to attend the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) to pursue a degree in osteopathic medicine.
