The American Cancer Society recommends that a woman have a mammogram every year starting at age 40. The ARMC RNS Digital Mobile Mammography offers women a screening mammogram in less than 30 minutes at locations throughout the community.
Advantages to digital mammograms include: images are clear and easy to read; there is a better view of the breast, especially near the skin line, chest wall and in women with all breast tissue types; it takes as little as half the time of a film mammogram and the image can be sent electronically to other physicians.
Most forms of insurance are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid. The ARMC RNS Digital Mobile Mammography Van is accredited by the American College of Radiology and the Food and Drug Administration and is supported by a grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Appointments are recommended and can be made by calling 1-888-569-1000.
