Alex’s Lemonade Stand Set on North Wildwood Beaches

By Press Release

NORTH WILDWOOD — Alex’s Lemonade Stand is set to take over the beaches in North Wildwood on Sat., Aug. 14, for a day of fundraising in the sun. Starting at 11a.m., organizers will set up two stands, one at Second Street and one at 15th Street, to help raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer.
The effort is collaboration between The Lemon Society of Philadelphia, The City of North Wildwood’s Department of Recreation and The North Wildwood Beach Patrol.
“We are very excited to be partnering with the City of North Wildwood for this event. The city has been a long-time supporter of the foundation. Our main goal is to leverage the crowded beaches to advertise the mission of Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
The exposure for the foundation can’t be beat. If we can inspire just a small percentage of the thousands of people who visit the North Wildwood beaches to get involved with the foundation, then we’ve achieved a great goal.”
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004).
This marks 10 years since 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer.
Since Alex held that first stand, the foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope.
To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $30 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 125 research projects nationally.
