5th Annual VIM Gala to be Held September 23

COURT HOUSE – The fifth annual VIM Gala “Broadway by the Bay” will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at The Yacht Club of Stone Harbor. This year’s honorees are Dr. Martin Carey as our 2011 Volunteer Physician and The Wildwood Women’s Golf Association as our 2011 Caring Neighbors.
Local Podiatrist, Martin Carey has been a valued member of the VIM team of specialists since 2002. When VIM calls, his staff says “send them over” without hesitating. And without charging a dime. He calls if he has a concern about follow up or a particular patient. He makes sure to keep the clinic informed of his treatment plan for the patients. In short, he treats clinic patients in the same gentle, caring, and thorough way he treats all his patients. He is most certainly an asset to the clinic and the community. When complimented on his generosity, Dr. Carey said “I don’t know why every specialist doesn’t just see one or two patients a month, then everyone would get the care they need.”
The Wildwood Women’s Golf Association sponsors the premier all-women’s Spring for VIM Golf Tournament, now in its fifth year. To date more than $100,000 has been raised from these tournaments. Proceeds were used to purchase a computer system, much needed medical equipment and to provide general assistance for our prescription assistance programs.
Since its beginning in 2002, VIM has cared for over 4,000 patients with more than 19,000 patient visits. VIM relies on the generosity and support of the community to provide health care to the people of Cape May County who have no access to health insurance. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to help VIM and share in the celebration of the achievements of these “neighbors caring for neighbors”.
