This may be a quiet restful down-time for most fishers, but there’s plenty to do to get ready for your next excursion. You can take classes at Cape May County Tech Evening Division, attend the winter sportman shows, take stock of supplies and update the tackle box and first aid kit.
However, winter fishing is not over. The Starlight Fleet, Wildwood Crest got out on the last few days of December and did alright for themselves. On Dec. 29, Gary Kennedy, Bear, Del., caught the pool winner, a nice 7-pound sea bass. He reeled in his limit as did Ron Neal, Smyrna, Del., with sea bass up to 6.5-pounds.
Jeff Jones, Allentown, Pa., brought in 23 sea bass up to 6.5-pounds and Martin Dipper, Del Haven, caught his llimit up to 6-pounds in size. Not to be left out, Bill Miller, Lewes, Del., limited out on sea bass up to 6-pounds, too.
On another trip, Raymond Chew, Philadelphia, Pa., won the pool with a 7.5-pound sea bass plus 18 others.
Woodrow Wilson, Yeadon, Pa., was happy with his 23 sea bass up to 6 pounds. Not far behind, if anyone is counting, was Joe Genovese, Philadelphia, Pa., with 20 sea bass up to 6-pounds.
Also pulling in a steady stream of fish were Brad Warren, Malvern, Pa., and Tom Gannon, Villanova, Pa., who caught their limit of sea bass with fish up to 6.5-pounds. Warren also had a tile fish in his bag.
Captain Jim McClintock, Fins&Grins, is running trips from Wildwood and reports tog fishing is really good. Check out the photos.
