Jan. 21: The Fishing Line, Sunny San Diego

By Carolyn Miller

While weather here in Cape May County makes fishing a challenge, I had the pleasure of fishing last week in San Diego with the temp about 80 degrees. It certainly made me hungry for warmer times and the fishing days we all enjoy.
However, the Starlight Fleet in Wildwood Crest continues to find sea bass, despite the cold. Choi Meen, Edison; Ralph Molinaro, N. Haledon; David Kim, East Rutherford; and Mike Jung, Queens, NY, all caught the limit with fish up to 7.5-pounds.
A few days later Had Birchmire, Cherry Hill; Samuel Ok, Little Neck, Queens, NY;, Jim Butler, Telford, Pa.; Doug Moyer, Schwenksville, Pa.; and Dave Chapelle, Wayne, Pa., caught the limit with fish up to 6.5-pounds. 1 Blueline Tile- 5.5 pounds
Ok, won the pool with a 11.2-pound pollack and Chapelle had an nice 5.5-pound blueline tile fish.
The Starlight Fleet runs offshore sea bass trips Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 2 a.m. by reservation only. Call 729-7776.
Fins & Gins, Wildwood, continues to fish open boat or charter for tog or sea bass whenever the weather permits. Call to reserve 425-3021.
If you know of any other charters still running, let me know so the readers can make plans.
