Youth Arts Fair to Take Place in Cape May

By On Deck Staff

The Dolores Cheney Gift to Young People Youth Arts Fair will be held on May 2 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Cape May City Elementary School, 921 Lafayette St.
The annual art fair celebrates the artistic spirit and talent of our community’s youth and the teachers who nurture them. The event will feature a visual art exhibit of works by students from the Cape May City Elementary School, Wildwood Public Schools, and a dance and puppet show by students at the Cape Christian Academy.
Winners of the Dolores Cheney Gift to Young People, a scholarship fund that provides stipends for summer study in the arts, will be announced at the Youth Arts Fair. The scholarships and the Arts Fair are named in honor of Dolores Cheney, a founding board member of the Center for Community Arts. Ms Cheney nurtured many children during her lifetime and understood the importance of the arts in children’s lives. For more information call The Center for Community Arts at (609) 884-7525.
