COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Freeholder M. Susan Sheppard announced that the Division of Culture and Heritage is hosting an Art Exhibit at the Beesley House from Nov. 3 through Feb. 20, 2012. The exhibit entitled “Wintertime in Cape May” will open to the public with an awards ceremony and reception on Thu., Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
The Culture and Heritage Commission art gallery committee will present a different exhibit every six months at the Beesley House. The “Wintertime in Cape May” exhibit will feature works from New Jersey artists in many categories including oil, watercolor, Pastel, Pen/Ink, Photos, Drawing, Print and collage. Local artists on display include: Peg Dittmar, Anna Marie Zabielski, Fred Arnold and Betty Campbell.
Freeholder Sheppard said, “The purpose of the show is to provide a place for local and regional artists to display their works of art in Cape May County. The gallery at the historic Beesley House is the perfect backdrop to showcase these varied works of art that depict our area during the winter aesthetic.”
The Beesley House, located at 605 Route 9 North in Cape May Court House, is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
