Wildwoods Welcome the Mummers String Band Show Sept. 6

By Press Release

THE WILDWOODS — Philadelphia’s very own Mummers make their way back to the Wildwoods Sept. 6 for the Mummers String Band Show, set to take place along Olde New Jersey Avenue in North Wildwood.
Entertainment will begin on the street at 3:30 p.m. featuring the Duffy String Band and the Philadelphia Mummers Chorus. The Mummers Strut Contest will begin at 4 p.m. featuring parade-goers performing their very best strut for the crowd followed by the Mummers Parade at 4:45 p.m. The parade will feature the top nine string bands from this year’s New Year’s Day Parade in Philadelphia.
Spectators will be able to get up-close views of the beautiful costumes and intricate dance steps these eccentric performers display during the parade, in addition to joining the fun and learning the famous ‘Mummers Strut.’
The show is free to attend and is fun for all ages. For additional information about the Mummers String Band Show, call 609-522-2955 or visit www.NorthWildwood.com.
