Wildwoods Host the Return of the Special Olympics Basketball Finals March 31

THE WILDWOODS – Over 1,000 Special Olympics athletes from across New Jersey will participate in basketball competitions on Sat., March 31 and Sun., April 1.
The six locations throughout the Wildwoods hosting these competitions include the Wildwoods Convention Center, the Wildwood Crest Pier Recreation Center, Wildwood High School, Wildwood Catholic High School, the North Wildwood Community Center and the Wildwood Byrne Community Center. Athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.
The mission of the Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities through a variety of Olympic-type sports, giving these individuals ongoing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Thousands of coaches, volunteers, family members, friends and spectators dedicate their time to the Special Olympics of New Jersey.
Competitions begin at 9 a.m. daily. This event is open to the public and admission is free.
