Wildwood Crest Free Summer Music Series to Begin

WILDWOOD CREST – The popular Wildwood Crest Free Summer Music Series is set to begin June 26 at Centennial Park.
Each Wednesday and Saturday evening through Labor Day weekend, the Borough of Wildwood Crest will host free live musical performances from some of the most popular cover and tribute bands in the region.
Free live music shows will be held each Wednesday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the entertainment pavilion located at beachfront Centennial Park at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue. This summer’s music series will also include a special July 4 holiday show.
The series kicks off with summer-themed rock and country music with the Jon Creidler Trio on June 26.
“We’re very happy and proud that our summer music series has become one of the signature events in Wildwood Crest each summer,” said Wildwood Crest Commissioner Don Cabrera. “We’re extremely pleased at how popular these shows have become with music lovers of all ages and we look forward to many great nights of live music at Centennial Park this summer.”
Saturday entertainment includes some of the best-known cover and tribute bands from throughout the Delaware Valley and beyond. Cover bands slated to appear this summer include Mother’s Worry (classic rock), Don’t Call Me Francis (dance/party hits) and Purple Reign (dance/party hits). Tribute bands on the schedule include the B Street Band (Bruce Springsteen tribute), 2U (World’s Second-Best U2 Show), Bennie and the Jets (Elton John tribute), Storm Front (Billy Joel tribute), Soft Parade (Doors tribute) and more.
Wednesday’s musical acts include many up-and-coming artists and local favorites performing rock, pop, dance and more. Wednesday musicians include the Star Band, Lil’ Rock Band, Kick It Out (Heart tribute), Ribic’s Cube 3, the Cape Harmonaires, Jersey Cape Chorus (Sweet Adelines) and many more.
In addition, a special Thursday, July 4 performance will feature the Manhattan Dolls performing American classics from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, including Patriotic songs. The July 4 show will begin at 8 p.m.
Those attending any of the performances at Centennial Park should bring a blanket or a chair.
All shows are free and open to the entire family.
