OCEAN CITY — Ocean City’s Weird Contest Week will be held Aug. 16-20, one contest every day starting 11 a.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace.
Monday is Taffy Sculpting, Tuesday is French Fry Sculpting, Wednesday is That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles (sculpting a huge cookie), Thursday is Clip Art, creating artwork from paper clips plus an Ear Wiggling Contest and Friday is Miss and Mister Miscellaneous and Little Miss and Mister Chaos.
The Miscellaneous Contest is for everyone who’s always wanted to be in a talent contest but missed the bus or perhaps got stuck at a rugby game. The Chaos Contest is for children 3 to 5 years of age. They are given pots and pans, metal spoons, toy hammers, etc. and asked to make as much noise as possible in two minutes.
Weird Contest Week was named one of ten most unusual events in the country by Trip Advisor a few months ago.
