OCEAN CITY – A couple things to look forward to in Ocean City…
RETURN OF THE OSPREY GALA is set for Fri., April 29 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Ocean City Yacht Club, 100 Bay Ave. “The mission of Operation Osprey is to further promote the partnership between the City of Ocean City and the Wetlands Institute, to promote the Bayside Center’s exhibits and programs, to promote field trips and educational activities in order to instill a greater appreciation for our coastal environment to the residents and visitors of Ocean City.”
Tickets are $50 and include beverages, Hors D’oeuvres, food stations, silent auction, live animals and exhibits.

Ocean City’s 5TH ANNUAL END-TO-END Family Bike Tour is set for Sat., April 30 with a 10 a.m. start. The eight mile bicycling event for all ages and levels of fitness is not a race. It begins at the Life Guard Station 58th and Central Ave. and finishes at the Longport Bridge Parking Lot. Proceeds benefit community service projects. The Ocean City Library, 17th and Simpson Ave., will present the movie TRON- Legacy (PG), Sat., April 30 at 2 p.m. in its Lecture Room N110. Admission is free, refreshments are provided. The Library will also present its Annual Authors Tea on May 5th at the Flanders Hotel at 2 p.m. Cost is $20. Local author Earl Paul will be featured. Tickets are available at the Library, 17th and Simpson Ave.
BEACH SWEEP: The Ocean City Clean Communities Program, the City’s Environmental Commission and Clean Ocean Action are sponsoring a Spring Beach Sweep on Sat., April 30 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Ocean City. All residents, schools, business groups and families are invited to join the sweep.
Organizers will form teams of volunteers to pick up litter on the beach. Participants will record the collected litter on data cards which will be entered into a national data base of marine debris.
The City asks volunteers to meet at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace or at the 57th St. Beach to receive instructions and clean up supplies.
Clean Ocean Action’s Beach Sweeps is one of the longest running in the world dating back to 1985. Today over 85,000 volunteers remove more than 4.5 million pieces of trash from New Jersey’s beaches, rivers, lakes and streams during semi annual clean-ups.

The Ocean City CITY-WIDE Yard Sale is set for Sat., May 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tabernacle Grounds, 5th and Asbury Ave. and throughout the City.

The 14th Annual MOTHER’S DAY CONCERT in honor of Esther Weil will be held on Sun., May 8 at 4 p.m. in the Ocean City Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Admission is free.
The West Chester Strings under the direction of Charles de Pasquale will be featured. The Concert is presented by the Ocean City Art Center’s Friends of Music, founded by Esther Weil, a beloved resident and promoter of music in Ocean City. Contact Judy Perkins, 609-391-1208.
