OCEAN CITY – On Nov. 17, 18-19: The Ocean City High School Drama Club presents a production of “You Can’t Take It With You” at the Hughes Performing Arts Center, 501 Atlantic Ave., at the High School. Show times are Nov.17, 18, 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. For tickets and information, call 399-1290 ext. 1442.
Nov. 19: Earlier Than the Bird Shopping Extravaganza. Shop in your pajamas, get free coffee and giveaways, early bird shopping specials. Free turkeys to best PJs. Noon to 3 p.m. free horse and carriage rides, face painting and photos with Santa. Call (609) 398-4662.
Dec. 7: The Ocean City Gardens Civic Assn. is sponsoring a Bus trip to Longwood Gardens as a fund raiser for various local charities and scholarships. The bus will leave the Tabernacle, 5th and Wesley Ave., at 11 a.m. and returns to Ocean City at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $75 and include transportation, entrance to the Gardens, a full meal and snacks on the bus. New Years Eve: First Night buttons are now available at Downtown Gillian’s, 838B Asbury Ave., seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also order buttons at www.firstnightocnj.com. First Night offers 60 entertainment programs on New Year’s Eve from 4 p.m. till midnight. Admission is $14 per person.
Now through Dec. 30: The Ocean City Historical Museum, 17th and Simpson Ave. is presenting Our Heritage in Quilts, featuring 27 from the Museum’s collection. One is from 1887. Museum hours are Tues.-Fri., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sat., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free, donations are greatly appreciated.
Besides the Quiet Festival programs already mentioned in this column, the Ocean City Free Public Library, 17th and Simpson Ave., offers many valuable programs in Nov. and year around. There are free movies, jazz sessions, Facebook and computer programs. You name it and you’ll find it at the Library.
