OCEAN CITY – That we are once again able to hold our events, that people were walking, jogging and cycling on the Boardwalk on Saturday is a good sign. We are gradually returning to normal. But there are still plenty of people in the community in need of assistance.
OCNJCARE is a group of community volunteers with partner organizations that continues to help residents obtain the resources they need to recover. At this point the pressing need is for cash donations to assist people find temporary housing and to cover disaster related injuries. You can help by sending a check to OCNJCARE. (Nov. 30) CHRISTMAS TROLLEY TOUR and Carol Sing. Tour starts at Ocean City Historical Museum, 1735 Simpson Ave., at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tour takes you through the Ocean City Historic District. Sing for the holiday season with musicologist, Richard Stanislaw of the Tabernacle Assn. Tickets are $20 for Museum members, $30 for non members. Light refreshments served. First Night, Ocean City’s gala New Years’ Eve Celebration , will definitely be held on New Year’s Eve, when else? There will be an extensive entertainment schedule with programs held at central locations throughout the City. Buttons are $15, available now at the Chamber of Commerce Offices on 9th Street across from TD Bank. A complete listing of the entertainment schedule is also available at the Chamber.
The evening starts at 4 p.m. with opening ceremonies and entertainment at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. As always there is an Angel Fund for those who cannot afford First Night Buttons. The Ocean City Arts Center is sponsoring its second annual trip to New York on Dec. 6. The bus leaves the Arts Center, 17th and Simpson Ave., at 8 a.m. and leaves New York at 4 p.m. The trip is set for the Metropolitan Museum of art where George Bellows and Andy Warhol are being featured.
