(Nov. 3) The Ocean City High School Leadership Club will present its annual Scholarship Dinner, DINING WITH THE STARS from 5 to 7 p.m. at the High School Cafeteria, 5th and Atlantic Ave. (use the 5th St. Door). Students and staff members will portray celebrities of the past and present. The dinner will be a sumptuous buffet featuring the specialties of local chefs.
Dinner music will be provided by Mr. Tym Cox and his jazz-rock student ensemble.
Attendees will receive a program book and there will be door prizes.
Tickets are $25 per person, children 10 and under are $10 and children 3 and under are free. For reservations call Mrs. Mary Maguire, (609) 399-1290, ext. 1372 or Mrs. Joan Vicari-Fulton, (609) 399-1290, ext. 4222. All proceeds will be used for OCHS senior class scholarships.
(Nov. 5) Register now for the 16th annual Trail of Two Cities 5K race/walk over most of the new 9th St. Causeway and a little bit of the old. The event begins 8 a.m. at the Ocean City Transportation Center, 10th and Haven Ave. and concludes at JFK Park in Somers Point. The Causeway will be closed to vehicles from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Pre-registration is $20 if received by Oct. 28 and $25 the day of the race.
Same day registration starts 7 a.m. the day of the race at the Ocean City Transportation Center, 10th and Haven Ave. Packet pick up and late entry will also be conducted at the Transportation Center. Buses will be available at the finish line at JFK Park in Somers Point to transport runners to the start of the race from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Buses will also transport runners back to Ocean City at the conclusion of the race.
Shirts are guaranteed to the first 300 pre registrants. Free refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the race. Registration forms are available at City Hall Annex, 901 Asbury Ave., (609) 525-9300 or from New York Ave. School in Somers Point (609) 927-2053., ext.3101.

The Miss New Jersey Outstanding Teen Pageant is open to any young woman between the ages of 13 and 17 (cannot be a 17 year old senior) who is interested in competing for the 2011-2012 title. Contact Joan Cooper, (856) 825-6937 or email disneyqueen54@htomail.com. Deadline for entries is Nov. 28, 2011. The Pageant will be held Jan. 28, 2012 at Millville Senior High School. The winner will compete in Orlando, Florida in August for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen and usually performs at the Miss New Jersey Pageant held at the Ocean City Music Pier in June.
