Aug. 20: The Little Miss Ocean City Pageant is set for 7 p.m., Fri., Aug. 20 at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. The reigning Little Miss Ocean City, Julia Erickson, will preside. Miss New Jersey, Ashleigh Udalovas will be special guest. Also performing will be Casie Katti, Junior Miss Ocean City and Rachel Reese, the newly crowned Miss Ocean City. Tickets are $10 at the Music Pier Box Office, 609-525-9248.
Aug. 21: The Ocean City Humane Society will hold its annual social to raise money for special needs animals on Sat., Aug. 21 at the Seaville Fire Hall from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, call the Humane Society at 399-2018 or stop at Shelter Rd. off Bay and Tennessee Ave. There will be raffles, a 50-50 and entertainment.
The Society is a no kill shelter named one of the finest for its size in the country.
Aug. 22: Our Three Tenors, always a popular Ocean City Pops Concert, is set for 8 p.m., Sun., Aug. 22, at the Music Pier featuring John Viscardi, Taylor Stayton and Cody Austen. Tickets are $20 at the Music Pier Box Office, 609-525-9248 or access www.ocnj,us. Sponsored by the Bart Greenspan and Stan Meltzer families.
Aug. 22: Recording artist, Steve Green will, be featured in concert, 7 p.m. August 22 at the Tabernacle, 5th and Wesley Ave., admission free. Guest back up singers will be the ChARTer Tech Select Choir. Green will sing selections from his latest albums Journey of Faith, Somewhere Between and Songs of Worship.
Aug: 23: The Ultimate Bee Gees Tribute Band comes to Ocean City on Aug. 23. Stayin’ Alive will play all of the band’s hits including Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Jive Talkin’ etc. Show time is 8 p.m. at the Music Pier. Tickets are $25, available at the Music Pier Box Office, 609-525-9248 or on line at www.ocnj.us. This is another outstanding concert brought to us by Stockton State College.
Aug. 24:The Ocean City Pops presents Cirque de la Symphony, Tues, Aug. 24 at the Music Pier,8 p.m. Artists featured are the most exceptional cirque veterans from throughout the world, aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers and balancers, all performing to music by the Pops. Tickets are $25 and $20 at the Music Pier Box office, 609-525-9248 or access www.ocnj.us.
Aug. 28: The Eastern Surfing Assn. will hold a contest on Aug. 28 at the 7th St. Beach with registration at 7 a.m. and the first heat at 8 a.m. For information call 609-884-577 or visit www.snj.surfesa.org.
Aug 28: The Ocean City Theatre Co. presents the Magic of Broadway at the Music Pier on Sat., Aug. 28 directed by Michael Hartman. Hartman has brought many outstanding musicals to the Music Pier in conjunction with the Ocean City Pops.
The Magic of Broadway is set for the Music Pier on Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This is the Theatre Company’s third production featuring its Junior Company, a select group of students in grades 6-12. The Magic of Broadway will be a song and dance spectacular with music that includes excerpts from many Broadway favorites.

Aug. 28: The Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer and Heart Fund will host a 5K run and walk as well as a kid’s one mile fun run on Sat., Aug. 28 starting at the Sports and Civic Center, 6th St. off Boardwalk. Registration will be from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. with the race starting at 8 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female over winners and to the top three in each age group.
