The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Sports Writers Workshop on Wednesday, August 3 from 7 to 8 p.m. Lecture will feature panel of three sports history authors discussing the writing process, finding an agent, getting published, and how to choose a topic. Q&A and book signing will follow.
College Workshop for Teens and College Students at the Avalon Library – Thursday, August 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Recycled Orchestra for Kids – Thursday, August 4 from 2 to 3 p.m.
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold Recycled Orchestra for Kids on Thursday, August 4 from 2 to 3 p.m. The instructor will talk about instruments that make up an orchestra and play her flute and piccolo. Kids can make a string, brass, wind, or drum instrument from recycled and household items and play along with the music. Registration is required. Minimum age is 10 unless accompanied by an adult.
