Upcoming 4-H Fair Will Offer Many New Activities

By Sponsored Content

COURT HOUSE – Save the dates July 17, 18 and 19. Your family will not want to miss the many new activities, special events and vendors planned this summer at the Cape May County 4-H Fair, starting with an exciting performance Friday night by rising Country Music Star Mia Bergman and her band.
While the 15 year-old Bergman, who is from Ventnor, may still be in high school, her talent and musical skill are way beyond her years. With influences such as Stevie Nicks, Kacey Musgraves, Zac Brown, Taylor Swift and Johnny Cash, Mia takes bits and pieces of what she listens to and shapes her own musical style. Mia promises to bring the house down on July 18.
Along with the Mia Bergman concert, look for the following new additions to the 2014 4-H Fair: an Antique Car Show, a Farmers’ Market, Saw Dogs’ Chain Saw Artist Demonstration and Auction, live herpetology exhibits by the Scales & Tails 4-H Club, a Tote Bag Give-A-Way by the CMC 4-H Foundation, Inc., and a celebration of past 4-H Fair Queens with “Throwback Thursday: Where Have all the 4-H Queens Gone?” Stay tuned for more new activities and complete schedule details!
The 4-H Fair is an annual free showcase of youth held at the 4-H fairgrounds, 355 Courthouse – S. Dennis Road in Cape May Court House, NJ. The celebration features 4-H youth project displays, small animal and livestock shows and exhibits, live entertainment, horse shows, commercial exhibitors, a pet show, amusement rides, games, great food, and interesting and informative demonstrations. Wizard’s Festival of Fun Amusements is always a favorite with the kids, featuring clean and safe rides for the whole family. Another highlight is the fair’s traditional, tasty barbecued chicken dinner, which will be served all three evenings of the fair from 5:00 til’ it’s gone by the Cape May County Board of Agriculture.
The public hours for the fair are noon to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. General admission to the fair is free.
The 4-H Youth Development program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County. Volunteers are always needed to assist at the 4-H Fair. Please call (609) 465-5115 ext. 605 for more information. Learn more about the Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program and the 4-H Fair at the 4-H Foundation website cmc4h.com
